That's what I love about Boland's shows. They tend to be in smaller venues where you can be right up close and personal with the band. He puts on a good show, as well. Here's a shot of them when they were playing New Year's Eve at the Firehouse Saloon in H-town. Mostly Comal County Blue stuff, but some of the standards were there as well.
If I lived closer I'd be there for sure. The venue has some other good stuff planned. Mike McClure Band is on the schedule as are the Turnpike Troubadours. I really like another live music venue as you can never have too many. But the location of this one and the lack of hotels nearby make it look like a high risk endeavor if you like to have some beer with your music.
Wow, those words mean nothing to me, I'm guessing it's not my thing. Small shows like that are cool though.
I would classify it as music for those who think Nashville has lost its way. In other words, it's country music with an edge a la the old days before Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, and Taylor Swift.
Just found out that Jason Boland and the Stragglers are playing at the Woodshed in Leon tonight.
Any other fanatics going???
I would love to go but I've never heard of the following:
Jason Boland
Stragglers
Woodshed
Leon
As a result I'm having trouble deciphering what you asked. Put me down as "maybe".
