Re: X-Men: first Class
Loved the cameos, won't spoil it for those who didn't see it yet. The movie was ok, lots better than wolverine or the last stand
And why on gods earth do people that site behind me at the movie have to tell their damn 5 yr old kids what every damn caption says?! If they aren't old enough to read, they probably aren't old enough to follow the movie anyway. And of course there were a lot of captions.

I kinda enjoy the cameo's but I think it can lead to continuity issues in future movies that people complain about. For instance McCoy appeared briefly in a television intereview in X2 looked nothing like Beast yet whereas now you establish the transformation much earlier. I give the movie B+ and in the X men films I rate them: X2> First Class> X1> Wolverine> Last Stand.

Also the girl that plays young Mystique is easy on the eyes.
The movie was good, but not as good as the original Xmen or Wolverine IMO.

Re: X-Men: first Class
Saw it this afternoon. Definitely could be some continuity issues, but overall a pretty good movie.
Spoilers:
Some cliche'd moments (of course the stripper goes bad and the token black guy bites it first), but it was fun. Im always a fan of alternate history so it was interesting to explore the cuban missile crisis framed this way. I wasnt a fan of how Moira seemed to be written out of things though.
Also.. loved seeing Michael Ironside as the US captain. He's done a lot of sci-fi, mostly minor roles, brought be back to Lt. Rasczak in Starship Troopers.

Re: X-Men: first Class
Was pleasantly surprised with this movie. Came in with no expectations. The characters that play Magneto and Xavier steal the show.

I mean actors, not characters. Too early in the morning for this post.

How bad did that Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots movie w/ Hugh Jackman look? He must owe somebody a favor.

Re: X-Men: first Class
I guess my opinion is if they're treating this as a semi-reboot (despite the dual cameos), who cares if there are continuity issues? The movie was outstanding regardless, and it's the first time I saw a movie twice in quite a while, and I've never done that before on back-to-back nights.

Re: X-Men: first Class
I have been collecting three separate X-Men comic book titles for quite a while now and have seen all the previous movies their opening weekends in theatres, so obviously I'm a pretty big fan. Normally I would have seen this one last week but I was on vacation so had to put it off until this afternoon.
LOVED IT. Think I'll probably see it again sometime soon and will get the DVD as well. Excellent blend of story, character development and action. I wish they would have kept McTaggart and Banshee Scottish and Irish respectively, and I'm not quite sure why Angel was in the movie (minor character book character, and even that might be charitable), but otherwise just a terrific movie.
I don't watch Mad Men, but if January Jones looks even half as good in that show as she does in this movie then I'll be glued to the TV set. Good grief is she stunning as Emma Frost. Jennifer Lawrence isn't bad either, and Moira is looking pretty good as well. Speaking of Mad Men, I think they did a great job of capturing the early 60's feel for the time period.

After X-Men 3, I vowed never to watch an X-men film again.

Re: X-Men: first Class
Just saw it on blu-ray, underwhelmed.
I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story.
