    Mower Question

This may be a stupid question, but I cant seem to find an answer. My mower needs new blades, and I have found some that work, but they have a star center hole and my current blades have the round center hole. The question is does it matter? The blades are held on with washers and presser supplied by the spindle bolt, so if the star hole is the same size can I use it?

    Re: Mower Question

Should work just fine. The center bolt just holds it in place.

I can't be the only one that finds it funny and ironic that your user id is Turfman and you are asking a question about mower blades.

    Re: Mower Question

Just a question...are they dull or are they damaged? If they're just dull you should be able to resharpen them with a grinder. Blades will usually last a long time. Resharpening is extremely easy.

Yep, I don't think you should try to force your shaft into the star hole. Find a blade with a round one.

    Re: Mower Question

They are shot, and it wouldn't be forcing the bolt into the hole. They are the same size interior diameter.

I just recently sharpened my mower blade with my Dremel and the blade sharpener attachment. Probably took me 20 minutes. Blade works great now.
