If it was me, I would extract some DNA form the marrow and clone it Jurassic park style.

Bison bone that has been mineralized not fossilized. I throw them in my garden when I find them. The neighborhood kids and visiting friends are very amused in seeing them. The will fall apart in a few years after being exposed to the elements. That one looks to be in fine shape. Keep it indoors and it will last for years and years.

It looks like a buffalo/bison shin bone. We give them to our dogs all the time. They LOVE them.

Bit of a tangent but based on all the talk of buffalo bones I recommend reading American Buffalo by Steve Rinella. Interesting mix of hunting story and history lesson.

It's a metapodial from an artiadactyl. The equivalent of fused metacarpals or metatarsals of even-toed hoofed mammals. It forms the lower part of the leg in those animals. Possibly a cow or bison.
