Crazy scene along I380 near Urbana
About 12 semis flipped over, trees down everywhere. Hope no one was hurt.

Re: Crazy scene along I380 near Urbana
Also heard about an RV dealership near 380 that has most of his inventory spread all over the interstate too. That storm was/is packing some serious winds.

That's the same RV dealership that got hammered by that Parkersburg Tornado a couple years ago.

Re: Crazy scene along I380 near Urbana
Lots of damage right near the Huxley exit along I-35. Few of those large power poles were taken out, and a metal pole building that was being constructed got flattened. Also sounds like WHO's Doppler Radar in Alleman got destroyed and is laying in a farm field. Driving up 35 this mooring, it also looks like a a lot of corn got flattened, which could lead to some major crop loss...

I have several family members near Garwin with significant damage to their farms, corn cribs gone, parts of roofs gone trees down. Sounds like that's the story all around there.

All of Marshalltown is without power, and there are trees down everywhere. On my drive to work from Ames, it looked like all of the corn from State Center to Marshalltown is flat. The Lincoln Valley Golf Course had a bunch of trees down too.

Yeah, I drove right through those trailers on my way to work. Surreal was the only way to describe it.

Some of that corn is completely on the ground and will be a total loss. Didn't hear about the radar though but that sounds insane.

The new scoreboard is still standing. I guess somebody did account for the wind.

Re: Crazy scene along I380 near Urbana
We had a little party this weekend that involved putting up a small, portable tent/awning. Was lazy and didn't bother to tether it down or to take it down last night, not knowing it was going to storm. Picked a bad night to be lazy...
