Drama category seems pretty stacked with good shows.

You're not going to snub The Office for Carrell's last year, you're just not, and 30 Rock had something of a rennaisance this year. Doesn't sound like Glee really deserved to get nominated, but there would have been insane backlash if it wasn't, I'm sure. I am a little surprised that Community didn't get some attention over Big Bang Theory. Maybe they were worried about being NBC-heavy.
Because HBO and Showtime shows are good.
My favorite shows:
Sopranos
True Blood
The Tudors
Weeds
Nurse Jackie
Game of Thrones
Entourage
US of Tara
BoardWalk
Hung
Big Love
Rome
Carnivale (still mad this was not renewed)
Oz
Six Feet Under
Dexter
.....
The only series on regular TV that I DVR are DIY shows, Modern Family & Big Bang, (edit and Justifed)
Game of Thrones nominated, that is awesome. Probably won't win but its a pretty incredible feat for a genre show to even be nominated. Definitely the best show I've seen on TV in a few years. I am really gonna have to catch up on Justified, hear good things about it. I didn't realize Timothy Olyphant was in it, haven't seen him much since Deadwood (another great HBO show).
although I like Modern Family, don't think it was right to give them 4 of the 6 noms for supporting actor.
Also, I really wish they'd seperate the drama category into network category and cable category. It's really not fair to the network shows who have to run twice as many shows a year. It's not like there aren't enough quality drama's to do it.
The reason so many HBO series are nominated is because the Emmy's are based on quality, not how many people watch the shows. If it was based on quantity of viewers we'd just have a bunch of boring procedurals and crappy reality shows. HBO series get so many nods because for years they have been a cut above the rest of television, though finally other cable channels like Showtime and AMC have been catching up in recent years.
Yeah seriously, how is Community now on there? I think Glee has overstayed its welcome.
Yeah I agree, but I think the Office is losing its touch. I think the Community is the main reason I tune in Thursday and I use to be a huge Office and 30 Rock fan. I also think Parks and Rec really improved this year.
Also, isn't this category comedy/music and that is why Glee won last year?
