Sushi
Still pretty new to central Iowa. Can anyone offer up their opinion on the best places for sushi in Des Moines or West Des Moines?
Arigato.

Arigato. Several great places in DM I would rank my favorites:
1. Miyabi 9
2. Sakari
3. Mandarin
4. Waterfront
5. Hoshi

Re: Sushi
Miyabi 9 is the best in town by a large margin.

Re: Sushi
IIRC, Miyabi 9 has a chef that's allowed to cut pufferfish and is one of only a handful in the country with that skill.

Re: Sushi
Miyabi 9, Waterfront, and Taki are my favorites.

Re: Sushi
I like Miyabi 9 a lot too.

Re: Sushi
Thanks much for all the suggestions. Does Miyabi have anything besides sashimi and rolls? One person who'll be with us isn't into sushi or rolls.
Thanks again.

Thanks again. Get the uni (sea urchin roe), he always has fresh uni, best in town!

Had it in Denver a few years ago and still don't think my stomach has fully forgiven me. Was awful. After I tried it I noticed its color was gray instead of yellow, which would have been good to know before the first bite. Still, can't do it again. Felt like I was green for two days after.

Re: Sushi
1. Miyabi 9
2. Samarai
3. Tokyo (Ankeny)
Have not been to Taki but have heard great things.
Appare is pretty decent as well. Waterfront I've had good and not so good, but it has a pretty stellar reputation (seems like WDM location trumps Ankeny quality-wise). Mandarin and Junko are the two worst I've had in town.
