Re: Improper use of words
Message boards don't need to be grammatically perfect, shortcuts can be taken BUT they should be legible, clear and understandable. The examples the OP pointed out aren't necessary examples people need to correct for message boards because readers are going to understand their point regardless. It is only a reflection of our education system... However, even an English major will make a mistake every now again between "there" "their" and "they're." It is whether you do it consistently or not.
If you have had a proper rhetoric education (rare), you will not WANT to be incorrect, EVEN in an informal setting like a message board. I don't blame the people who can't tell the difference between "loose" and "lose," I blame the teachers and education system that have failed them. I'm not saying that my rhetoric skills are all that good either, only been through a few basic college english courses.

Now, can we get back to the fun topics?

It's allright, most of us understand that people will make mistakes, and its ok. Sometimes its just easier to say things the according to there pronounciation then to try to figure out the right grammer. All and all, most of us are very excepting of those who's grammer skills aren't that good.

Re: Improper use of words
My two favorites:
"pre-madonna" (for prima donna)
"dominate" used as an adjective, like "ISU's defense was absolutely dominate in that game." It's dominant. "Dominate" is a verb and is always pronounced with a long A.
