mip and public intox

My buddy got an MIP in May and a couple nights ago got a public intox. Anyone know what his charges will be and what the consequences for this are?

Probably just fines, potentially a little bit of probation. I know a couple of people that have gotten MIP's when they were in high school and they just got fined. Since you had two offenses though they may be a little bit harsher on the punishment.

Consequences? Probably none. I got three of them while growing up, it's never been an issue. An old roommate of mine had 7 MIPS and a DUI, once again, never been a problem.

People drink in college, employers know that, employers don't care.

You will be fine. It is the first offense for public intox and that will be a 300 dollar fine or whatever it is. MIP's are nothing the first time around. I wouldn't worry about it. Just do not get pub intox number 2.... Thats no fun...

There is a long list of employers that won't hire someone with a DUI. Airlines won't hire pilots with a DUI, I would think no one in the transportation industry would. You won't be commissioned in the military with one, etc. You can still run for congress or president though.

A public intox charge can be removed from your record after 2 years as long as you stay out of trouble during those 2 years.

Well as long as you aren't dreaming of becoming a commercial airline pilot or a bus driver, you should be ok.

I got an MIP in HS, another in college, and a public intox in college.

None of these have amounted to any kind of issue with an employer, grad school, etc.
