Way cool! Can be either instinctual or trained. Could be either, or a combo thereof. Is a good sign of temperament though.

Probably would love to chase your daughter and the basketball around on the basketball court too!

Send him over to teach my puppy that.

My hat's off to you for giving this pooch another shot with a loving family. Sounds like you are getting a good dog and you've done your homework.

LIke others have said all they want is to please you and have their ears rubbed. At least that is what my two goldens want.

Have fun with your new buddy!

I've heard about this being a problem lately, but my family had an English Cocker/English Springer mix from the time I was 5 until I was 20. I've never met a dog with a better temperament.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

Our family had a golden retriever/yellow lab mix growing up and she was awesome! She was very smart and loving. Couldn't have asked for a better dog. I have never heard of that brand of dog food. I have a rare breed bird dog. She is a German Longhaired Pointer, and I feed her Native, which I have been very impressed with. It is made by Kent Feeds and has had really good reviews thus far. Good luck with your dog!

Congrats on picking a great dog.I'm jealous.Thank you for giving him a good home.
Its mostly insinct to drop what he has retrieved.
You are doing the right thing by slowly switching him over to your preferred blend.

I'm looking for a Golden Retriever puppy.
If anyone knows of any............please let me know.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
