    HDTV settings for standard cable

I know the picture won't ever look that good on an HDTV using standard cable, but are there any settings that can be adjusted to make it a little better?

Do any HDTV's over 40" look good at all?

Check if there is a digital signal you can pick up. For example, Mediacom in Des Moines has digital versions of the basic lineup in channels in the 50's. For example, ESPN is 35 in the analog lineup, but the digital channel is something like 55.1. The standard def digital channel will be better than the standard def analog. Try rescanning the channels to see if anything like this gets picked up.
