Car mechanical/electrical problem

I have a late model Ford Escape with a turn signal that is acting funny. The odd thing is it's only the right signal, which is blinking about twice as fast as it should. Both the indicator and the signal itself are doing this. No issues with the left.

I know when you have a signal blinking faster than normal it often indicates a battery or charging system issue. But what about just one signal?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You need to replace the actual bulb, same thing with my Ford Focus. Problem solved.

One bulb on that side is burnt out.

After checking some auto forums, this seems like a likely cause. I'll check all of the bulbs on that side. Thanks!

Could also be his retro encabulator.

No bulbs out. I guess I'll try replacing the signal bulb itself and see what happens.

I think that is a sign that the kanuter valve is acting up and needs checked.

Yeah, it won't actually be out. But, it's about to go out.

Might as well check the muffler belt while your standing on top of the car.

Since it's a Ford, you'll need a left-handed monkey wrench.

You still need to replace the bulb or it's going to keep blinking like that.

It might be one of the bulbs that has dual elements and the one is out that is not the turn signal. About guaranteed it is a bad bulb whether it appears to be working correctly or not.........


Is it on the same side as your antenna? If so that could mean you have to replace the antenna bearings in order to make the timing of the blinker correct.
