Hotel Ottumwa

One of my buddies is getting married and his reception is at Hotel Ottumwa. Has anyone stayed at this place? How can there not be any reviews on Tripadvisor? If it was just me it wouldn't be a big deal but my wife is going and if this place is a craphole I'll never hear the end of it.

I'm picturing the hotel from revenge of the nerds 2 for some reason. You know the Hotel Coral Essex, except not on the beach and not with the charming staff.

I have stayed at the American Inn down there and that was nice.

Ive been to many events there, it is really nice, if you dont want to stay there I believe there is a American Inn right down the street, if you would rather stay there, it is maybe 3 or 4 blocks. Tip Top is a bar next door which is a little higher class, and if you want some Local Flavor, the owls nest is down the street,

It's an old Hotel that has been updated. Not the Ritz but certainly not a dump the last time I was there. Free parking, restaurant, bar. If that frightens you there's a newer American Inn across the street.

Thanks for some actual information. I was thinking about the Americinn. The only negative I see is that nearly every review talks about a loud train going by every hour. For some strange reason they didn't put this on their web site/
