The post was written to be funny, and it is all being taken with a chuckle on Hawkeye Nation. Granted no one wanted him to hurt himself but I think this isn't that big of a deal.
We have all been there, fallen down and looked stupid. He is lucky he didn't get hurt, but we all have had embarrassing moments.

Yeah glad he didn't get hurt too bad, would hate to see it. Just went on there to see what they were chatting about and saw this as a thread heading and it made me laugh. Not the story, just the thread name. Hopefully he gets his gutter guards fixed soon.
I slid off my Grandmas garage roof right into the back of the dump truck a couple years ago. First thing I did was to look around and make sure nobody was watching. It's always funny when nobody gets hurt.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not dude?
