iPhone 5 Release 10/4!

OK, I admit that I'm a fanboy. I've run to each and every iPhone upgrade in anticipation having thrown my Blackberry and Palm products in the trash years (3?) back. What do you think the iP5 gimmicks will be and how soon will you get one?

Android guy, so no sale, but always curious to see what they come up with. Any details on hardware yet? Anxious to see the 720 displays on the Androids in the coming months to see if they can surpass the Retina. Apple nailed that one.

IMO, unless the Verizon model has 4G data connectivity in DSM, not gonna be interested in this upgrade.

Not as funny considering the current tone of the board the last couple of days ie "shooting selves in the foot".

I'm stoked. At the very least I'll get a date for iOS 5. Notification center looks good.

Good point, but I have a feeling Apple will have something really cool in store like usual that will draw me in like a bug flying into a bug zapper lol

Saw an interesting rumor that the new iPhone 5 will be exclusively released on Sprint for the first 4-5 months as a WiMax device. The AT&T and Verizon LTE version will follow in Feburary/March of next year.

All the major carriers should get the iPhone 4S, though.

I've seen this rumor too, and would be ****** if Spring gets the iPhone 5 because they sold their soul to Apple.

The more I think about it the less I think it's likely, especially considering the iPhone 5 cases that were leaked from an AT&T store. AppleInsider | AT&T already stocking iPhone 5 silicone sleeves in stores

But...we'll find out today. My day is going to get very unproductive around the time of the news conference.

I cannot wait to go back to iphone, I have a droid and it sucks. I am not an apple fanboy. It was just a better phone. Plus I use an Ipod all day at work, so it would be nice to have both devices in 1.

Besides Itunes what makes a Iphone a better mp3 player then android?

I'm enjoying my iphone and obviously wont be getting a new one since mine is only about 2 months old. I am interested to see what the ios update might bring. I'm hopeful that they bring something like swype along or at least let someone build one to add. Once in a while I'm envious of 4g but when I'm still playing games and such late into the evening and not worried about the battery that envy subsides.

BTW, as a general statement to everyone, iphone or not, dont ever pay the 15-30 bucks in store for a bumper or case. I have bought two online and saved a ton (amazon)
