I hate Coach. Just had to get that out.
I still don't have anyone I'm rooting for in this one. Coach is getting close.
But we both know that Coach will say something stupid, and I won't be cheering for him.
It was great to see Cochrane stand up to the bullies. Like Lil' Russ said, that's what you get for treating him like that.
Lil russ is an idiot just like Cochran. He needs to stand up for himself, but switching teams is dumb. He won't win the million anymore (not that he had a chance with Ozzie), but he will have no chance now. Ozzie's tribe hates him and the other tribe played him like a fiddle. Funny thing about smart people, they have no common sense/people skills and Cochran is one of those. Easily will be one of the biggest villains in Survivor for that one move.
Dawn was very smart tonight. Put your emotions behind you and stay true to your tribe.
Cochran made the best move for himself tonight. I know 100% of the previous posts are saying the opposite, but hear me out.
1. He was #6 on his current tribe. He would maybe be able to stay longer than Dawn, but that was it. He was limited. Not to mention he was more than ready to send Kieth home the way he treated him.
2. The other tribe, Coach, Asian Lady, Little Russ, Cowboy... these are weaker players that Cochran can beat and or convince other tribe-mates that he is a better option to take to the end vote.
Cochran would be a player like Coach/Albert would want to take to the vote with him, he would be assumed to take few votes and be easy to beat in a physical immunity match.
So that's the "Cochran made the right move" angle.
Ozzy is the fool in this one.
This move means that no matter how far he makes it in this game, he'll never win. In fact, I'd take him to the finals if I were Coach. So yeah, if his goal were to stay on that island for as long as possible with no chance of winning, then this was a brilliant move.
Speaking of Coach, I think he's played a really strong game so far this year. I think I'm rooting for him to win, if for no other reason than nobody else has done anything to deserve it at this point.
Cochran had no chance of winning from no matter what decision he made. If he stays with his tribe, he gets 6th or 5th place, and no better. Upon an unlucky rock draw, his tribe could have been outnumbered and he would be next to go. Making this move may put him in 7th place, but also provides a stronger chance of moving up further than he could have with his own tribe. He has shown his loyalty to the other tribe now, and that will go a long ways with people like coach and lil Russ. Coach is smarter than he has looked in the past. Cochran is an easy choice to take to the finals as he will get zero votes from jury members from the other tribe.
He had no chance of winning the million either way. 2nd place gets $100,000 and 3rd gets $85,000.
This is the breakdown as I have seen:
1st Place: $1,000,000
2nd Place: $100,000
3rd Place: $85,000
4th Place: $70,000
5th Place: $55,000
6th Place: $45,000
7th Place: $35,000
8th Place: $27,500
9th Place: $20,000
10th Place: $15,000
11th Place: $10,000
13th Place: $5,500
14th Place: $4,500
15th Place: $3,500
16th Place: $2,500
If my tribe tells me that I need to redeem myself to get back on their good side, I'd say screw that too. I don't need to redeem myself to be accepted on the other side. I'd take my chances. He now has potentially 15 days while they pick off each of the other members to build a relationship and move past 7th. I don't think he had any chance of moving up in his previous group. I'd take that bet too. The difference between 6th and 3rd is pretty significant.
The point I think you're missing is that just because he was #6 in the group doesn't mean he'd have been voted out first. That is almost always the point where the weaker players start picking off the stronger ones unless they're being mind controlled by Boston Rob.
I really can't tell if I'd get along with him or not. He seems nice but he says some really strange and uncomfortable things that make it obvious that he's spent very little time with a group of people.
