Playstation 3
So, I am looking to buy a PS3 for Christmas this year and was wondering what the real difference is between a 160gb and 320gb system except for the obvious.
What does the extra gb really give you? Thanks.

Re: Playstation 3
Save yourself the hassle and buy a 360. You won't regret it.

Re: Playstation 3
If you're going to be downloading a lot of movies to the drive, i guess that might be worth it.
I mainly use my ps3 as my blu ray player though, so i barely use any space. Even for gaming dlc and such, 160gb will probably cover most people i'd imagine.

Re: Playstation 3
I enjoy my PS3 because of free online, instead of paying $60 a year for Xbox live

As an owner of both, id say if you're looking primarily for the blu ray player, get the PS3. If youre looking primarily for the gaming, go xbox.

Re: Playstation 3
Do your friends have a PS 3 or XBOX? PS 3 is nice having the blu ray player. I only use it for gaming and watching movies. I am probably not using near the capabilities of the machine I could.

I can usually manage to get an extra year for 30-40, which is just a couple bucks a month (hell, the MW3 copy i just ordered came with a $25 off a 1 year xbox subscription code). More than worth it.

Re: Playstation 3
I owned an xBox and didn't really enjoy it but I really enjoyed my PS2 when i owner it years ago. That is why I want the PS3 over the xBox.
My main question is: does the extra gb really give you anything?
I am primarily going to use it for the gaming and not the BluRay player, thanks.

PS3. No brainer. I've had both and made the change, and haven't regretted it for a second.

So, sounds like unless I am going to download a lot of movies, games, etc... then I should save the money and go with the 160gb system. Is that what people are saying?

You won't notice a difference in gameplay or anything. Just depends on how much you want to download or store. I have a 160 GB with quite a bit on it, and still have plenty of room.
