And draining fast w/o product to sell due to floods in Thailand where their main plants are. Even a huge corporation like WD can take only so many blows before getting into serious financial trouble.

Reliable? i have not seen any problems with their reliability compared to normal replacment drives. it is the fact that you get a a lot less for the price compared to the normal spinning drives. This will take a while to come down, just like BD drives. And less competition would only lengthen this time frame.

What I should have said is that if they can cheaply mass produce them without losing reliability then they will dominate the market.

But as has been reported, competition is what is going to drive down the cost of SSDs. Until then, I am going to get that 500 GB Momentus XT Hybrid SSD, and get 90% of the performance at 1/10 the cost per GB.
