Oh, also for my list:

Super Dog Station- Ames
Happy Joe's Pizza - (CR one is absolutely terrible, Ames one was meh, the others I've been to are very good)
Honorable Mentions: BWW(I love wings, used to eat here weekly. Their sauce is the best, the quality of the meat itself is questionable at times), Great Plains Pizza
Oh daym...missed that one. Fear The Cheese.
Re: Let's play a little IF game!
Chicken Coop for Wings
Jethro's for BBQ
Sac County Cattlemens- very good steaks and low price
Main Street Deli in Ames
Wow... No real chains in that list.
Did forget.... Highlife Lounge/El Bait shop. That could replace either Jethro's or the Coop on a given day.

Re: Let's play a little IF game!
What am I missing about Texas Roadhouse? It has been with out question the most named restaurant on this list.
Everytime I have been its been a half hour wait minimum just towhere sit downnext and order a steak thats no different than any other steak house. Why do people worship this place? What don't I get with this place?

Everybody wants it to be in Ames. I for one would rather grab a bite to eat at Battle's.

My wife loves their rolls with the cinnamon honey butter, otherwise we have only eaten there once; it was good, but nothing to really rave about. Maybe there's just that many people who love throwing peanut shells on the floor.

Agree. I've been one time and was among the worst dining experiences of the last 5 years for me. They sang happy birthday 3 times in the hour that I was there.

Yeah, it's not that the food is really bad or anything, it just seems completely normal and not at all worth the hour wait people invest to go there.
Maybe it's just because I'm not a huge fan of steak houses in general (would rather grill it myself), it just seems like people wet themselves over this place and I don't really see what they do all that differently from other places that warrants the worship.
