You'd probably have to ask my wife, but the two I thought were best were electric heated slippers and a framed photograph of Key West that was taken off the dock by the hotel where we stayed on our honeymoon.

On that note, what do you think is open Christmas day in Ankey or Ames?

Is there a Denny's in either town? That's where we ate on the road last year. They're always open.

Nope. So far I know about Fuji's being open and Pizza Ranch...

I always feel a little bad they they work, but at then I think that at least they can make money (if they really need it).

One of my great Christmas memories as a child. One early December we had a snow storm and my dad had trouble getting the snowblower to work. My mom got on him about shoveling would be quicker then fixing that thing and then blowing the snow. Remembering this conversation, at Christmas, my dad got my mom a shovel. He got to eat breakfast in the snow.

Dude is a saint (and I would worry that would go to his head, but it's pretty full already anyway).
