Was thinking over the weekend when I saw John Elway on the sideline about my favorite Christmas gift growing up. ABout 3rd or 4th grade I got an Elway jersey with padded pants and shoulder pads and cheap plastic helmet. My little brother and I went outside and proceeded to beat the crap out of each other and my mom has regretted that gift ever since (A tradition that continues now over 20 years later). A few years later the whole family got lazer tag guns (even Dad) and we wore those guns out in a hurry. What was your favorite gift growing up?
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.
An original Optimus Prime toy when it first came out. One of the few times I was completely surprised by what my gift was. It was insanely hard to get, had to wait in line for hours, time trips to the store just right, etc, and I never thought in a million years it would be under the tree that morning.
+1. Around 1991 or so. Before that, we used to rent an NES from the local movie rental place for a weekend every now and then. When I got the Nintendo, I played a game called Maniac Mansion nonstop for about a week.
The same Christmas my dad got me a bb gun and a bow and arrow set. Not a hunting style bow, but a decent target shooting one none the less. Not bad for a 9 year old!
hmm, I remember one year I got the Millennium Falcon Star Wars ship from my parents. Man, that was probably the most surprised I was for a Christmas present/
