Re: Customer Service?!?!?!
I wouldn't give a **** about 3 cents. Would be pretty embarrassed to be with anyone who did, regardless of the cashiers effort. Just an opinion.

Re: Customer Service?!?!?!
We are judging you on killing a fast food girl for not giving you three cents. That is all we have to base our decision on. You would give a stripper a two dollar bill for a lap dance and expect her to take one out of the garter for change. That is the type of guy you are. Girl is just trying to make some money for college and her kids.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Re: Customer Service?!?!?!
I was at a breakfast buffet this morning in a hotel. The waiter didn't ask my wife what she wanted to drink so I hit him in the head with a tack hammer and burnt the ******* place down.

The girl at the window hands me a nickel and states "I am out of pennies and owe you three cents." OK so at this point I think she will go to another register to get the pennies. She goes and hands me my shake and then goes to get my burger and fires, and pennies I assume. AS I am waiting I get the feeling that I for some reason get to pay 3 more cents then everyone else so I reach into my change stash in my car and get 2 pennies. She comes back with my burger and no pennies and asks if I want ketchup. I say yes. She comes back with some ketchup and I now assume that she is not going to go out of her way to get me my 3 cents. I hand her the two pennies and she just stares at me for a second then says..... "no, I owe you 3 cents." My reply.... "I know, I will give you these two pennies, then you will owe me 5 cents, or a nickel. It takes her about 5 seconds and I swear I can here the gears grinding as she processes this information. (must have gone to a LAUSD public school) Needless to say I got my nickel.
Now I know some of you are thinking "dude, its only 3 cents". Most of the time I would agree with you but the total lack of effort to find 3 pennies and I wasn't even asked it if was OK if I didn't get the pennies. Her assumption that I didn't care was off putting to say the least. That and what store runs out of pennies at 2 in the afternoon? That and was the store out of pennies or just her register?
I will admit to being a stickler about customer service and have noticed a decline in the past few years at least locally. (Southern California) I have worked in the food service industry and other service industries so its not like I don't see things from the other side. Now I admit my standards for Carl's Jr are not high at all, hell I am happy when my order is correct considering I had a friend get a burger missing the patty once, but this irritated me.
Does anyone else have wonderful customer service stories? -

Let me stop you right there. You've already made critical error number 1 by paying in cash. In fact, even by having cash on hand you were making a mistake. Next time, pay by card and we can avoid all this mess.

Re: Customer Service?!?!?!
Hey All...it's about "principle". I work in Customer Service...manage a team who pays life insurance agents their commission. Had an agent call in one day none to happy that his commissions were being held. The amount he was concerned about was $0.63. I'm not kidding...$0.63.
The fact is, there is a system limitation. The system literally will not cut a payment if it's less than $25, except at the end of the year, you know to make sure the books are balanced. I talked and explained how it worked to the guy for a few minutes, and he said it was about the "principle". How could I hold his money, no matter how insignificant?
At that, I told him I could wire his $0.63 to him the same day, but would need for him to give me his bank's federal wiring information. That was the only eat I could get it done for him.
He calls me back and says his bank's going to charge him $12 for the wire. I told him I was aware of such a charge, but felt the "principle" was worth more to him, and asked him if be wanted me to execute.the transaction. It turns out, the "principle" wasn't worth $11.31, because he quickly dropped it.
Point is, people have the right to complain about any amount of money if it's theirs. It just depends how much it means to them. In the OPs case, it cost him/her nothing, and I applaud him/her.
