Had he been honest and left in an honorable way then so be it but he didn't. You have your version of the story, but there are some that will say Hoiberg said thanks but no thanks. Just like Shane Power departure, no one will ever know the truth. I will tell you this though, he was never waivering in his plans to leave with MCD at the helm. He told him right after they got off the bus in Ames after their season ending loss in the Big 12 tourney. He had obviously made up his mind and was gone right as the season ended.

If you cannot see that he is a nice BCS player then you my friend are seeing it thru jadded eyes. Jaded? He stunk! I completely agree with you that he would take Bookers minutes. Hey we agree. But that amounts to about 10 minutes a game, and that is to give guys a breather not because its a bonus. Like I said I don't like to be really harsh on current players, but IMO Booker=Hamilton. So now you know what I think of Booker.

Phillip Bates - Not classy
James Capello - Classy
Justin Hamilton - Not classy

Let me guess, you thought LaRon Dendy was good too.

That is beyond stupid. They aren't great, but they certainly aren't average. No one saying he is an all-american. He's a solid role player with size that could help out most teams.

He literally said "haha" at a post from Staiger making fun of Mcdermott for leaving ISU.... that means nothing! Sorry, that wasn't immature or mature, it was absolutely a meaningless laugh between friends.
I am not sure how he could have left in an "honorable" way... he did not trash Gmac or the program on the way out the door which he surely could have. The whole "closer to home" thing is hilarious, but obviously it was just a canned excuse he used to avoid having to talk bad about his former coach.

I never saw any need to bash on him while he was here because he was an ISU player, but I certainly have no qualms with it now. I'll give you that he is better than Railey, but certainly not Gibson. He would see about 8 minutes a game if he were still here. That is my speculation. If you speculate more than that, that is your delusional choice. Anyone who watches college basketball knows that a 6-11 sophomore who is average will most likely be a valuable asset during their junior, and especially sr seasons. It takes most big men awhile to develop.

Booker
8.5 pts/7.4 rebs/0.5ast/2.5TO/1.9blk/50%FG/58%FT/4.9Fouls
Hamilton
12.6 pts/7.0reb/1.4ast/1.7TO/1.5blk/51%FG/80%FT/2.8Fouls
Their sophomore year stats with their previous teams are even more telling. Hamilton is clearly the better player.

I don't think he would be a solid role player on our current team. White and Gibson would probably foul him out, and he wouldn't even have a chance to shoot his 80% free throw percentage. Clearly you aren't going to convince me otherwise, and I'm not going to dissuade you from your love of Hamilton. Feel free to continue calling me names though, I can take it, I just look at the source.

It was certainly a lot nicer than most of us have kidded about McDermott.
The lesson here is that friends should never communicate.
