anyone want to help me out here. My 360 keeps freezing up and the game is brand new. my xbox is 6 years old and it is probably time for a new one. it is running really loud and earlier today i got the three rings but now it turns on and works and than it freezes.
anybody know how to fix it?
should i just get a new one. anybody got one they want to sell me?

Looks like you've got the red ring of death.
I've had three 360's crap out on me because of this. This is not caused by any user errors but rather Microsoft's incompetence. You could try to repair it yourself, but you'll probably have to purchase a new one (or a PS3 ).
I'm a biased PS3 owner but a significant contributor to the 360 leading in units sold in North America is because of their failure rate. At one point it was near 50%. If your unit is 6 years old, it's one of the 1st generation problematic units and you got hugely lucky it lasted this long!
i think Game stop is running a special if you trade in a console you get 75 bucks to a new one. alls I have to make sure is that the thing turns on and hopefully it will bamboozle them as counting it as working in full condition. i think the new ones were like 175 dollars

I dunno, I am on my 3rd PS3 already, so I would not say they are problem free.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin 1775
