    Iowa State Football at 499 wins?

    I think someone else may have mentioned this already but is Iowa State football at 499 wins? If you tally up the records in Wikipedia they total 499.

    ISU may already be at 500 or 501 wins based on the Kansas forfeit of 1980 and Colorado forfeit of 1997, also ISU and Nebby have a dispute over a game a long time ago so I am not sure how that is figured in. I thought ISU was starting at 494 at the beginning of the year and 500 came with the OSU win. I have also seen ISU at 492 at the beginning of the year so they may actually be only at 498.

    Forgot to add this. If forfeits are figured, then 1980 season would have went to 7-4 from 6-5 and 1997 season from 1-10 to 2-9

    They aren't. 499 is the official total.

    IIRC, the NCAA doesn't make teams "forfeit" wins, the NCAA "vacates" the games. It is exactly as if the games were never played. So we did not get the victories, and neither did our opponents.
