My wife is a professional cake decorator and she is entering a national contest. She has to submit photo's of cakes she has done and we are trying to narrow down the best.

I don't know what they contest guidelines are, and I don't know what you're wife would say was the hardest to do ... but I think the wolf cake looks difficult and she pulled it off very well. Wolves usually aren't my deal, but that's visually stunning.

Agree with this. I liked the wolf cake and the big Winnie the Pooh. Not sure of the criteria though and there are many other good ones, which makes it hard to pick!

Thanks! I think that is one of my favorites too. She also did a buck cake last year during hunting season that was really good.
We don't really know exactly what they are looking for. We do know that they are not really looking for fondant type cakes like you would see on a lot of Food Network programs so that plays into her favor. They want pictures of something like 5 cakes and sadly we don't have pictures of some of her best ones. We figured we will send some of a variety.

I would say send an assorment. Cakes that are more of the classical variety and then some that require more imagination. There is a tall white (wedding?) cake with blue flowers that looks really great. (The one that looks squared off) There is another that looks like maybe a parade float that shows some imagination. I also like the igloo cake.
They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there.
