Childcare in Ankeny
Does anyone have any feedback on Childcare in Ankeny? Asking about a few daycare center's, Childs View, Childtime and Little Endeavors. Looking for care and feedback regarding infants.

Re: Childcare in Ankeny
I have a son (and daughter once she is born end of the month) that goes to Little Endeavors. We love the staff that have taken care of our son the last 4 years. They have all been very nice and easy to work with. Have gotten many babysitters from there too. The price isn't too much different (I don't think) from any of the others in town. One problem may be space. I know they don't have many openings coming up here in May when the kids all move up rooms. I would call sooner than later to try and get on a list.

Call the Iowa Department of Human Services or use their website to see centers. When I was looking for centers, I called the DHS case worker and asked her about each site. She was very open about each one I asked. The phone call was well worth the time. https://ccmis.dhs.state.ia.us/Client...qMEe1J2oSenvS5 -

I appreciate your input about Little Endeavors. That is the one we like the best and have been on the waiting list for about 6 months. I hope there is an opening before I send my child to daycare. It's such a hard thing to find one you can trust with your newborn.

We are having our first baby in Late July. When should we start looking to get on a waiting list?
Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl. -

We looked 7 months before our baby was born and we are still on the waiting list. It's never too early to look. Congrats on the baby girl!!!

I wouldn't put my kids in Ankeny childcare. They'll grow up to be Ankeny cake-eaters.

Mods, is there a "Ankeny Hawkeye Game Watch" thread over on HN that this should be merged with?

Re: Childcare in Ankeny
We have used Little Endeavors and liked it a lot. We ended up moving our son to the Bob and Billie Ray center at the Easter Seals camp when he was one and it was fantastic. It was less expensive, and the amount of outdoor activities they get to participate in was awesome. I would recommend either one.
