Child Care Price?

Our 5 month old was in a center for $225 a week here in Omaha but we weren't satisfied with the service for that price, found an in home for $150 and have been very happy with it.

Saving $300/month is very nice especially when we are happier with where he is now than at the center!

For a Des Moines in home we pay $28/day per child or $140/week per child. We have an infant and a 3 year old. 3 year old is in preschools. FYI, $140/week is CHEAP for an infant.

Our last one will be out of Day Care this fall. Right now we're spending about $130 per week for him including preschool in Waterloo. When the kids we're smaller we used an in home daycare day lady who was excellent and it cost us $100/week/kid which was a great rate. She was in her late sixities and had a spotless house and was great with the kids. We paid her about $15,000 one year to watch 3 kids. As the kids got older we moved them into a church day care and thought that was a good move with a little more structure and somewhat more flexible on schedule. The rate worked out okay because they charged by the hour with no miniumums.

You want someone good watching your kids, and that was more important than the rate we paid. Just glad we're about done with that part of our life.
