    omaha apartments/areas

Brother is moving to Omaha in March and was looking at apartments. Weve searched all the rent.com and apartments.com sites and CL, but was wondering if anyone has suggestions on specific complexes to live in.

Requirements are that they are newer construction and a reasonable drive to the 90th and Dodge area. Any ideas?

Check out the biltmore on 114th and blondo. We lived there for two years and in a one bedroom it was 695 for rent with some utilities included plus on suite washer and dryer plus access to a workout facility. quick to get on dodge off of old mill road and westroads is right down the street.

My wife lived here for a little over a year before we got hitched:

The Martinique Apartments Apartments For Rent in Omaha, Nebraska - Apartment Rental and Community Details - ForRent.com

It's called the martinique, located at 93rd and western which is about 3 blocks north of dodge. Lots of older people living there so it's quiet and the apartments are spacious with a nice pool area.

Biltmore seems nice. You can also check out the Irvington Heights apartments. Easy access to I680, Walmart, Target. They are new (2008) and just off of 90th street so he would be about 3-4 miles from 90th & Dodge.

There are some affordable duplexes/houses in the benson/dundee area. I am currently living in a 2 bedroom duplex around 60th and western for 600. I can get to 90th and dodge in about 10 minutes. nice area to live.

    Re: omaha apartments/areas

If one would rather have a house, I know of one for sale at 72nd and I680 for sale that is 6 years old! Just PM me. (We are moving back to central iowa) I think the Irvington Apartments may have been the one where the Pizza Hut delivery guy was murdered. I know it was that area. If I were to go back to the apartment route, I'd say Biltmore. Place looks nice and close to everything.

    Re: omaha apartments/areas

    Thanks for the replys everyone.

One thing ive noticed while do some searching is the new "clubhouse" craze. Seems all these places are sinking a million dollars in to the "clubhouse". I cant recall using this area once while livnig in an apartment. Nor can I come up w/ any reason I would want to use a giant common area with other strangers. Now a bunch of them have "movie theatres" ect. Why dont they take that money and fix up the actual apartments.

    Anyway, thanks

My g/f lives in the Benson area and its pretty sweet. Lots of fun bars and the houses are pretty awesome. They are comparable to "beaverdale bricks" but for about half the price.
