I've been googling for info, but not finding crisp answers so I thought I post here for some advice. I'm arriving in Ames for about three weeks of home improvement work. I have access to a pick-up and some tools but I may need to rent a few things like a power washer and compound mitre saw. I found a place in West Des Moines to rent, but is there a rental place in Ames that has rental equipment like that?
Also, I need to move a debris pile and replace a deck. Is there a recycling place in Ames? Here in Oregon, we have a place that takes these items and composts them. As last resort, I guess I can take them to a landfill. As an alternative, is there a city dump that will take it and old pumping fixtures?
Bobcat of Ames (East Lincoln Way) has equipment and tools to rent. The Ames Landfill is closed. Anything that can be burned needs to go to the burn plant. If it can not be burned, then it goes to the Boone County landfill.
