We used to go to shows all of the time and it didn't matter when they were, now I only have a 2/7 chance she'll want to go. I think I just need to get a concert buddy because even a good show by yourself isn't as fun as if someone else is there.
Edit: also doesn't help that the only venue in town (thus not requiring a drive out of town) is notorious for starting shows super late. Last night, doors open at 8, opener starts 9:30, headliner starts at 11. I even left at 12 because it's a late night for me too. My wife is one of those 9 hours sleep chicks too. So I go to a lot of shows alone, and often I enjoy it. I find it allows me to enjoy the band more fully. I also like the late starting shows, because it allows me to leave the house after putting the kids to bed. It allows me to have me time without disrupting the normal flow of the household.

Have you ever heard of 2 Live Crew? They are the kings of the raunchy stuff, but to me they were different because they were seen as a novelty act and not portrayed as great rappers. Their hook was being "As nasty as they wanted to be", rappers today act like their skills sell albums, when really they just lean on the dirty stuff.

Yeah, I'm not arguing the artistic merits of it, but I was reading a bunch of "kids these days" posts and just pointing out that hip-hop was ******* filthy 25 years ago too.
It's like how everytime I hear some old timer talking about how screwed up the world is today and everything's going to hell, I want to remind them that in the glory days of the 1930's and 40's when they remember the world as being a pure place, you had dictators running around conquering nations, raping entire cities and systematically killing entire races of people. There's always been a messed up element to humanity, and by comparison to the past, things are pretty damn good these days.
Tangent rant over.

another confession: I cringe anytime I hear a woman talking about sports. Especially the ones who are somewhat knowledgeable. I dont know what it is it just drives me insane. Like they know a little about sports but they done know as much as a standard male sports enthusiast
