Some German medals are worth hundreds of dollars or more...you really should check that out!
Foreign currency and some WWII war medals are something that I have as well, including four German medals. My grandpa worked briefly in a temporary POW camp in Europe after the D-Day invasion, and confiscated a lot of items, including some medals.
I once stumbled upon a collector/salesman of WWII memorabilia while on a fishing vacation in WI. He had a few of the medals I possessed (although his were replicas), and he suggested that mine would be worth a decent chunk of change.
They're priceless to me, and would have to be worth a life-changing amount of money to consider parting with them. But I would love to know what they're really worth and don't know where to take them. I have the following:
