Heaven forbid anyone be casual and talk to a celebrity like they are a person. Running up asking for autographs has to be annoying.

Re: Anthony Bordain
Isn't he the one that is ridiculing Paula Dean, Rachel Ray and Guy Fiere? AB show is interesting, but I think he is arrogant and self-abosrbed. I am sure the autograph hounds are a drag.

He likes Alton Brown which surprises me a bit.
I can see how some people would confuse opinionated with arrogant.

He's a little over the top and certainly has an alcohol problem, but what a sense of humor. He drinks a lot, but I don't know if he has a problem. Seems like he leads a pretty successful and enjoyable life, IMO.

I love his episode(that is on netflix) where he revists an old video of him as a chef when he is really young. It is bittersweet I think. He looks 20 pounds and 20 years younger. Very cool episode if you haven't seen it and like his stuff. He basically talks about his early start and cooking in New York.
Also if you have Netflix instant, check out Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare UK VERSION. I cannot stress that enough. The UK version is 10x better than the one that is on here in the states. Less about blowing up and more about telling a story.

Spot on. He may have picked up some chef snobbery in his career. Seems like some of the "sellout" type chefs he has a problem with.

Re: Anthony Bordain
The Bali episode is one of my single favorite TV episodes of any show...ever
Kinda along the same lines, Dhani tackles the Globe makes me think Dhani Jones would be awesome to hang out with too... Very cool, very down to earth.

Re: Anthony Bordain
The Layover shows more of the beat down side of his trips. I cant imagine he is going to do these shows that much longer. He has a young child and he isnt getting any younger himself.

Yep, exactly. I have had drinks with celebs at bars here, know a few, and have friends/family who are friends with them. If you want to talk with a celeb without them getting ****** off, you talk to them like you would anybody else. "Hey, how's it going man?" There's only a small percentage who actually enjoy people worshiping them and having no privacy and being put on a pedestal.
Although the time I was hanging outside and Ron Howard came up next to me, I shook his hand since he deserved it. I guess that's kind of like an autograph?
