The snobbery is strong with this one. He takes a ton of "artistic license" with the anecdotes he uses in his books. He cut the footage he filmed at a certain bistro in Des Moines without any explanation. I can't even find it on the Travel Channel website.
I think that he's more typical New Yorker than *****. I love his shows...not must-watch, but I'll stop there while channel surfing. I guess I enjoy seeing him immerse himself into the local cultures as well as seeing a chef enjoy local foods that aren't all presentation and no substance. Plus he likes to drink!
