By the way, just because someone has a virtual monopoly on something (see the bowl season this year) and you end up using that product because there is virtually no alternative, doesn't mean you can't dislike the provider or the quality of the product.
On a parting note, I go pretty much from the end of the college BB season to the start of the FB season very rarely turning on an ESPN station. There are probably more weeks that I don't than I do during that time frame and I am a pretty big sports fan.
ESPN IMO has more in common with Entertainment Tonight than the Nightly News. I prefer my sports and news with some objectivity and insight. They just hype the biggest persona going at the time and beat it to death.
I like NBC Sports better. More news like.
The only time anymore that I will watch any ESPN station is if there is a game on that I want to see and occasionally I'll watch college gameday. I can't stand sports center anymore and their analysts are all garbage. If I want to see NFL news/highlights, I'll watch NFL Network, if I want NBA news/highlights, I'll watch TNT, for baseball its MLB network for college football I watch the regional FSN or comcast channels ...all of them are vastly superior the garbage that ESPN has on.
Here's the thing people, if you think all white coaches/players are racist, then your yourself are being racist.
Can't stand ESPN anymore. Will only watch it for games of interest or if I anticipate some Iowa State highlights once in a blue moon.
I think they are very bias. Love the big least too much, love the secleaze too much, hour long sportscenter on Tebow, try a QB that's accomplished something IE Brees, Rogers, Brady.
Yes, they are bias. Yes, they have corny shows on that I do not watch. However, so does every other channel that I watch. I hate a lot of shows that Comedy Central has on, but I still watch a lot of shows on that channel and enjoy those shows.
I like watching sports on ESPN. I also like that they have added content to those sporting events. In my opinion, it helps me understand more about the people on the field than if I were just to watch with the sound off or on the radio or in person. The shows I dont like, or dont want to watch...I dont watch. Its really pretty simple. I like...no, I love ESPN.
And I love Samantha Steele who now works for ESPN.
He's all about what's good right now, and how for the good of the sport, that should keep on being good forever. He never wants to see upsets, or the rise of lesser regarded programs. He just wants to see USC and Michigan and LSU and Alabama be good, always and forever, amen. He's the same way with the Yankees and the Lakers, so at least he's equal-opportunity sports-wise. Can't stand that guy.
