Things to do in Kansas City in March
My wife and I are taking our first weekend getaway since having our son last summer. We are planning on Kansas City over her spring break (March 16th-18th). Was wondering if you KC experts could give some pointers on places to stay/things to do. We were there last year for the ISU game and enjoyed the game, power and light, and some good bbq.
Another thing we have done on our getaways has been couples massages. Anyone had massage experiences in KC?
Thanks in advance.

The Titanic artifact and exhibit will be at Union Station in March to mark the 100 year anniversary of the sinking. I've heart this is quite impressive. Home | Kansas City Titanic Exhibition -

I'm just gonna throw this out there, but since its your first time going on vacation since having your son, I'm gonna go ahead and say "your wife" as something you should do in Kansas City.

If your wife wants to shop, Zona Rosa. If you're a history buff the WWI museum. If you go on Friday, you might try the Harley Davidson factory tour. They are only open during the work week.

Sounds like there are all kinds of prices for different things at union station. Do you have any idea how that all works?

Pretty decent little exhibit in a cool little area of town. Also I second the OK Joes awesome BBQ. Other good resturants Korma Sutra (indian food), Jersulum Bakery (awesome buffet), The peanut (wings). Damn I miss KC restaurants.

WWI Museum is a great idea (props to that guy). Went there a couple years ago and want to go back again.
The Plaza is a great place for a dinner or shopping. It's pretty high end so beware, but even walking around it at night or during the day is interesting. It's pretty safe as well.
Crown Center is another shopping center that connects with Union Station and that is pretty cool.
A nice Italian restaurant that I make my parents take me every time I'm home is Lidia's Kansas City. It's right next to Union Station and can walk above the train tracks to get there. I usually get the pasta trio (3 pastas all you can eat, salad and a dessert for $25). Jack Stack's Bar-B-Que is there as well.
Negro League Baseball Museum is also pretty cool if your interested in baseball or just history. Not in the best area, but no place in KC is bad during the day.
Legends is another cool place to shop and look around in Kansas City, Kansas. Just follow I-435 W and you'll find it. Race track is there (For a landmark) and I believe there is a really nice casino being built right by there too. I know it opens soon, but not sure when.
Also The Kauffman of Performing Arts just opened up in downtown KC. Don't know if anything is going on, but it's worth a shot to look into. Heard it's really cool inside.
Enjoy your visit to KC. One of the most underrated towns IMO.

Steamboat Arabia was pretty cool when we took class trips there when I was younger. I would also second the Negro League Baseball Museum as that was also a fun time.
