Weather - Ice on 1/27/2012?

Weather folks,

I have family that's supposed to drive down to DSM from MSP tomorrow afternoon. Are we expecting much ice or mainly rain/snow?

I'll let someone else make an ***official*** weather thread if they feel a need.

They were talking a little on Friday, but so far Saturday looks good to go. I'm no weather guru, feel free to verify or deny.

Don't worry there are things called snow plows that clear off the roads

I'm going up to Okoboji for Winter Games, and it looks like "flurries" and "light snow" as you go north. The major online sources are saying well less than an inch of accumulation, and no major problems.

If you listen to the local media, they will likely say "storm of the century" as they are wont to do.

Yes, sir. We have our spotters out spread out across the northern borders and we are revving/retroverting/reversing the gigantic wind farm machines to throw the air back north. We are having Okoboji region drones start to seed the clouds to make all frozen moisture drop north of Hiway 20. You should be fine, Sir. Have a nice drive.
