"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

If I fix something, I make sure to test it out to make certain the problem is fixed. This obviously didn't happen in this case as he found out in his short drive home that it was not fixed.

And Roadhoused, do you know the entire situation? Isn't there a chance it could be a different leak? Oh but wait, you know the entire story...lol +1 for trolling properly.

Really nice people. I haven't had anyone in Ames do any work for about 8 years though so I don't know if they are still around.
I would like to find someone in the Ankeny area similar to this. Just need to provide loaner/transportation though while my car is in the shop.

Re: AAMCO is a freaking joke
rulz has a a point. If they're fixing the mistake, as they should, how can there still be any problem?

Re: AAMCO is a freaking joke
Guys like isurulz have always been very helpful to me..they realize I'm a fool that doesn't know what he's talking about, yet still give me great service. Only a few hundred to refill my dome light fluid..it gets low all the time.

Re: AAMCO is a freaking joke
Surprised it took a full 5 pages before somebody from AAMCO finally found this
On topic, it's really helpful to learn some basic car mechanic skills. Being able to do minor maintenance and repairs, as well as getting a good idea of what a problem might be, can save you a lot of money.
I always recommend taking it to a non-chain repair place. You get to deal directly with the manager a lot of times, and the service is miles above what you get at chians, in my experience.
Case-in point, I had a leak in a tire when I was at ISU, so I took it to Car-X to look at it. After 2 hours, they called me to tell me they couldn't find any problems, but they would look at it again. Almost another 2 hours later, they called me to tell me they couldn't find a leak. Of course, my tire was flat again the next morning. I pumped it up and took it home to have the local dealer look at it. Within 10 minutes of dropping it off, he called to tell me there was a nail in it. A freaking nail! How do inspect the tire for 4 hours and not find a nail?
After that, I assumed if Car-X couldn't locate a nail in my tire, they probably weren't someone I wanted working on the engine of my vehicle. Never been to a big national chain since.
PS. Wow did that get long in a hurry.
(That's what she said)
