Baseball card collection

Anyone ever had one appraised or sold to a collector? I have a decent collection (mostly baseball, some NFL and NBA), and would like to know the value. And, no, I'm not going to come through a Becketts card-by-card. If it was valued high enough, I may consider selling it, but I don't want it picked apart.

If anyone has any experience doing this, I'd appreciate some info. Thanks.

Expect your collection to be worth a fraction of what you think it is worth. There is no market for sports cards/memorabilia right now and hasn't really been one the past 5 years. If you have a collection that you think is worth $1000, expect to get $100-200 and your set would be cherrypicked for the best cards

This is about right. If you have time, taking out your best cards and getting max value out of them might be better than selling a chunk of cards.

There is a website I have sold on: Home - CheckOutMyCards.com where you can get an idea what some things are selling for (and a great place to get ISU cards - go get them so I am not tempted to ).

I have a **** load of cards...most of which are still at my parents' house. Have never sold my entire collection, but have sold individuals on eBay and beckett marketplace before. I have a friend who's big into it and has/had legitimately about $25,000 worth of Tom Brady Rookie Cards who does it all the time.

been selling cards on ebay and other sites for 4+ years. It really depends on what you mean by collection. I've seen many collections and they are just overly produced 80-90s junk cards.

I gave up on cards years ago. I now have signed stuff that I can verify with pictures. The signed stuff brings a hell of alot more then then the cards. You can make a small fortune off of EBAY with verified signed articles.
