iphone died

Was taking pictures with it, and when I went to look at the time, nothing. Doesn't light up, make sounds, anything. I thought the battery was dead, but it doesn't even show the battery charging graphic when I plug it in. Any ideas? It's only a few months old. I can't figure out how to open it for the battery either, so a clue there would be helpful too. Thanks

Hold down the top button and the center button for at least 10 seconds, that will force a hard reset.

Not designed to be able to open it to get to the battery, for some people one of the main complaints about the iphone. But anyway, your best bet is to do exactly what brian said.

Crap. Tried the hard reset, got nothing. It's my work phone, so I suppose I'll just take it in on Monday.

If this fails, go to the Apple store and ask one of the Apple Geeks a question about your phone. Hand it to him/her and drop it in the process. Immediately begin screaming about how he/she is at fault for the dropping the phone and demand to see a manager. Key point: Do not lower your voice until a free new phone has been secured. Also, if you don't seem to be getting any accommodation from the employees, start using profanity and personal attacks. Make as many people uncomfortable as possible. If caffeine is your only option, I recommend between 20-30 NoDoz tablets.

I make sure to mock their mothers, wives and girlfriends, just in case. I probably should start including nationality and lifestyle to increase my influence.

They need to know that they will never make another sale until our guy is happy.

Just make sure if you go the nationality route that your target is in the minority of those in the store. Trust me, I will never mock Iranians in the Apple store in Tehran again.

Just take it in to work Monday...as you said.

I can't tell you how many times inappropriate language in inappropriate settings has gotten me into an inappropriate amount of trouble. The Apple Store would be an inappropriate setting and nationality slurs would be inappropriate language. IMHO. Yes, your iPhone not working appropriately is inappropriate, but 2 inappropriaties don't make an appropriaty. Make sense?
