studying in college
Just wondering, how many hours (for college students only) did you study per week?
I'm guessing it's different for each major but I'm curious if 35-40 hours a week is the normal or if it's made up.

Re: studying in college
I'd say I averaged 10-15 hours per week. 2-3 hours per weekday.

Re: studying in college
I wouldn't say that a typical week is 35-40 hours but there are definately times when you will not have a life. It also does depend on your major, I had a roommate who was going into history and he never had more than a couple of pages to read and maybe write a short paper while I went into engineering and had multiple times where I had to pull all-nighters in order to get done on time (I'm sure that's partly my own fault as well). Depending on your major I would say that 35-40 hours is reasonable but not every week, especially not your first year when you're taking intro classes.

Re: studying in college
Well if you really want to get decent grades and pass you're classes with mostly A's then the 35-40 hours a week isn't a lie. I never studied close to that amount while in college and still received a B- GPA. I probably studied around 10 hours a week. I was a mechanical engineer also.

Re: studying in college
Chem E is probably 30 hours a week, plus 17 class hours. Can fluctuate a lot depending on the week and classes

Re: studying in college
I'm pretty sure they said you're supposed to study 3 hours for every hour of class so you could figure it out based on your schedule.
