With that said, over the last 6 months I've been sleeping as poorly as I ever have in my life. That coinsided with a very busy work schedule that's been good for the pocket book, but obviously not my sleep! Fortunately it's ramping down now and I'm sleeping better. I have found that if I work out more and harder, I sleep better. Reminds me of how well I slept back on the farm after a hard day of physical work.

Don't think I'll ever touch the stuff. Will try other methods first. Certainly sympathize with the people who feel they have to use it.
I agree with this. I would definitely start with lifestyle changes first before going to meds. I can't imagine that narcotic induced sleep is very satisfying to the body, or mind.

But ever since those idiots at Odwalla killed those kids with their manure laced unpasteurized apple juice it is all pasteurized like any other juice.

You have to love Norman Borlaug's quote in this clip.

But it is not all pasteurized -- some of these local nut producers don't and claim added benefits -- be careful. Also drinking unpasteurized milk is nearly as dangerous as Russian Roulette.

    Re: Ambien?

I love sleep. Could easily sleep 12 hours a day ... but I do occasionally have problems idling down after a busy day and falling asleep. The worst is trying to go to sleep when my mind is racing with all the things I need to do the next day. On the advice of my doctor, I've been using OTC Traquilent by Sanesco. It bumps my serotonin and I drift off quickly and experience a very restful night. I don't need it all the time, but it's a great option when I do need a little help.
