have been searching ebay, etsy etc for a few months looking for a good vintage cyclone shirt. finally got it last night. commence "cool story bro-ing" me.
lucky duck! except for the fact we lost of course.
i recently found an unopened pepsi bottle which featured the isu vs iowa game on it from the same year at an antique shop. would have bought it, but the score showing the two point loss was enough for me to put it back.
I love a good game day shirt from a loss. I am thinking about wearing my pinstripe tee all next fall.
you are correct in that the loss is a serious bummer. but this shirt was just too cool not to get. I wouldn't wear any lost bowl game shirts from the 2000 on, but this thing is 35 years old man! and in excellent condition. only a handful of people i run across are even going to know who the cyclones are, let alone if they won the 1977 peach bowl (i live in TN). had the cyclones won a bowl game prior to 2000, i would have looked for that shirt. however...

also, pot calling the kettle black here. your avatar, the 1983-1994 logo is a great symbol of success. during those years the cyclones went 44-85-6 with only two seasons ending in a winning record at 6-5. not exactly a logo most would sport proudly. yes the cyclones lost the peach bowl, but the shirt itself if still pretty bad ***. the cyclones were abysmal between 83-94 but it doesn't mean that the cyclone logo of the time is not also bad ***. that is my favorite cyclone logo too!
it is unfortunate that such a great logo, has such a poor losing history. in my quest for finding a cool vintage shirt, this was the logo i was after, but haven't found the perfect one yet (gold shirt, cardinal lettering).

lol! Its a cool shirt. My avatar is more about reclaiming the past and making it part of ISU's identity. As in, if we didn't go though that **** fest we wouldn't be who we are today. That is what that logo means to me. Funny observation though! I have a gold shirt with this logo on...if I remember I will post it in this thread later.
