Circling tip and writing "Get a real job" implies that he thinks her job is worthless or perhaps jobs that work for tips are not real jobs, which implies that he is a *********. The tip may have been earned however, who knows.

It would make sense with the 1% tip, but I would think that a waiter in an upscale restaurant would be smarter than engaging a customer in a political argument.

Apparently the person who posted it online wasn't the waitress, but another person in this guy's group. Said the guy is a wealthy banker who looks down on other people and likes to lecture them about the merits of wealth. And that the 1% tip is meant as a jab to the 99%.

The person eating lunch with him was so appalled by it they took the picture and posted it.

Yea, I just read the article as well. If that story ends up checking out, what an ***. I can see not agreeing with the politics of the occupy movement. I could even let the ****** tip go. But the smart-*** "Get a real job" comment sets me off. She HAS a real job. The world ceases to function if everyone's "real" job is "rich bank president".
