I'm #33/#32, but all my best posts get deleted (total internet thug). I should really be ranked much higher.

EDIT: although i guess I did get a nice 15 spot pity-rep bump to pass Clones21 yesterday.

This reminds me of our new performance raiting syatem at work. Too many people complained that the rating system wasnt an accurate portrail of the worknthat they did. The old system had the top two scores covering the top 40% and now it will be the top 60%.
Nothing like watering down the rating system to appease the masses.

I like to rep him when he behaves well. Compare it to giving your dog a treat because he ***** in the flower bed rather than the carpet.

That's like telling me I'm a good husband because I don't cheat on my wife. Refer to Chris Rock. You shouldn't be congratulated for something that's expected. I do understand the dog reference though.

Oh, and if i cared, i would throw my nerd hat on and agree with clone83. That said, i don't care.

To be clear, I have already replied elsewhere that I don't care (that much) and am fine with the current system. I like being able to respond (simply) positively to someone else's post, exceptional posts, without necessarily posting myself or possibly getting into an extended PM exchange.

Otherwise I was never really big on rep to begin with, though I can see its advantages.

I just wanted to point that discrepancy out. There are a lot of tradeoffs.

I would add that if it actually were strictly # rep posts/# posts, you would no longer be giving greater rep if you are repped by someone with higher rep. But again, there is a definite time (inflation) element to this as well.

To go from #55 to #97 means that I will support the OP rankings.

I got the same as the updated rankings when I messed with the excel sheet.

I think the updated rankings are better because they emphasize Post Rank and Rep Rank rather than the ratio of the two. Posters who are consistently awesome are ranked much higher.
Basically, the original rankings inflated the rank of posters who had a few high rep posts and very low total posts (to get a high post rank in the 500 to 600 range). It's kind of like ranking a One Hit Wonder band ahead of a band that consistently puts out hits but they aren't always the number one single.

In essence, psychlone99 is Sinead O'Conner and Al_4_State is U2.


Also, I went from 153 to 41. I'm in the dance now baby!
