I remember walking out after seeing it in one of the old campustown theaters...the couple in front of me blurted out "WTF was that?!?"

Clearly they were hoping for another Every Which Way But Loose.

My favorite western hands down. In a lot of ways it is the anti-western and the anti-Clint stereotype. Then in that last scene in the saloon is pure awesomeness. The scenes between Richard Harris and Gene Hackman are amazing and extremely tense.

I first saw this movie in europe in french with english subtitles ...... one of the best westerns.

Same here. I have a hard time believing that movie is that old. I thought Clint was getting up there in years way back then and that was probably going to be one of his last movies.

Gran Torino is his best piece of work IMO.
