I golfed Eagle Mountain a couple of times, once right before it opened and a couple of years after. My brother in law was part of the land development group that got it off the ground. Anyway beautiful course, too nice for my limited golf skills. I felt like cousin Eddie hackin away out there.

If you want the cheap route, I would play Dobson Ranch in Chandler. Beware though, it does take a long time to play, because it is a crowded place. I've always enjoyed my time there.

I love Eagle Mountain, beautiful views, although its a pretty generous track (banked fairways, not much desert). If you elect to go to Fountain Hills, Sunridge Canyon very close to EM is a nice but very challenging course.
