I'm more thrilled that idiots that pull fire alarms finally got what they deserved if you read the end of the article! Nothing more annoying than a 3am fire alarm in the middle of winter and the moron that pulled it usually would not get caught. It's been 10 years since I graduated ISU but I wonder if they have finally put all the security technology in place and installed some cameras in the hallways now to catch things like this. I remember that some of the alarms if you pulled them would spray ink that you could not easily wash off so the residence staff usually was keeping an eye out for people that had ink stained hands after an alarm was pulled.
Really?! Like they didn't know that if they grew marijuana this would be the result?
You want unfair? My wife and I together make close to $45,000, despite degrees and good resumes and neither of us can get jobs elsewhere because of the economy and that we are not bilingual.
Because we make so much we don't qualify for any state assistance. Food stamps, medical, WIC (food stamps for babies), nothing. We were left paying over $6000 in medical bills from having our son last year despite insurance. My wife couldn't breastfeed so we have to spend over $200 a month on formula. We combine have something like $40,000 in student loans we have to pay on. We got a small income tax this year.
Our bills/formula is more than we make in a given month and we have nothing we can really cut.
I know a lady who pays $100 a month in rent thanks to the government, in a apartment that would cost me $730 a month. She receives $500 cash grant from the government each month and another $500 in food stamps. She went out and got pregnant as soon as she dropped out of high school and has no bills and doesn't have to work.
My wife and I try to better ourselves and we get stuck with the bill while someone else can drop out of high school, get knocked up and sit around smoking pot causing her son to have medical problem after problem. The government will not only give her the money to buy the pot but also to pay for the medical problems her son has as a result of it.
I don't get it, in this post you are railing on the government, while in the other you are calling for more government control/power over what people do with their lives. Quite the contradiction if you ask me.
