Unbelievably Strong 5 & 7 Year-old Brothers

Re: Unbelievably Strong 5 & 7 Year-old Brothers
Not to take away from their thunder....except the world record...but as someone who grew up doing male gymnastics, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary in the vid for the sport. There are a lot of male gymnasts under 10 years old who do that stuff everyday and it's part of warmups. Still impressive, but not unique in the least bit. It's obvious their dad is training them to be olympic gymnasts.

Im kind of with Maroth on this one, I treated several young gymnasts (both male and female) in that age group capable of doing those things. One 9 year old girl could do about 30 of those handstand press up off a balance beam in a row.
They are still pretty buff little dudes though! I wonder what they bench -

They are still pretty buff little dudes though! I wonder what they bench I'm not saying they couldn't do those things. The constant "I have to tell everyone all of the awesome things I do" in every thread he posts in ridiculous.

I might have been in the sport, but I couldn't do that at their age, because I wasn't as talented as the more elite athletes (i.e. them). All I'm saying is that this is not uncommon to see for some of the good 7-10 year old gymnasts who have been training since they were 3 or 4. Go to a gym that has some more 'elite" talent and you will see it.
I wasn't talking about ME though. I was talking about how this is not UNIQUE and happens quite a bit, and that I have experience in the sport and have seen it many times for myself (NOT ME doing it at that age).

Thanks for pointing it out, but nowhere in this thread did I say I could do it at their age. I said I used to do the sport, have coached it before, and have seen it, and isn't anything out of the ordinary. If you can find where I specifically said that I could do this at their age, I'll send you a check for $500 right now in the mail.
And what other threads? Oh, something about programming? That's the only one I can think of, because I actually do it for a living. Show me the threads that say I run a 4.4 40, score 30 points a game in basketball at all levels, batted .650 in baseball and had no errors, etc. You won't find any of that. But yes, you'll find one where I got ****** off about something to do with web application development, and a few others offering my perspective about the career I am in.
Re: "Cool things"..there's nothing "cool" or "unique" about doing gymnastics. If that's the case, then so is doing youth soccer.

its truly amazing what the human body is capable of doing. things that most people would consider impossible.
even after seeing the video, some people will still say those 5 year old kids were predisposed to have that ability. i don't believe that is the case.

I think some people have more of a natural ability at some things, but a lot of things a lot of hard work can go a long way. In the sport (gymnastics) there was a skill on rings that Physicists said was humanly impossible until someone proved them wrong (I think he might be from Des Moines?) and now a few people in the world are able to pull it off.
Human body though is such an amazing machine.
