Question about P90X
So, I'm overweight @ about 230 and want to get down to about 200 or less. I've been trying to find something that would help me get down to that. Just wondering what your experiences are with it and what not. Would you recommend it?

Re: Question about P90X
It will help you take off weight. But after the 90 days if you don't stay on a decent diet and workout regiment you will put it all back on.

Re: Question about P90X
I would recommend it, but I like Insanity better as far as losing weight and I like Shaun T better than Horton. Insanity pushes the cardio hard and they don't make you feel like a piece of crap if you have to take a break. Hell, half the models take breaks and they are in great shape. That's my two cents. I'm sure some would disagree.

You don't need it. Eat less. Exercise more.

Just wondering what your experiences are with it and what not. Would you recommend it? Maybe not what your looking for, but currently I'm overweight at 340 at 6'3. I decided I wanted to do something about it. I was at 370, started with eating right and walking. At 340 I decided to go with a program more towards Cardio as opposed to muscle building. So I picked up the Turbofire DVDs cheaply on Amazon. That was 5 weeks ago. I'm only down to 335, however I have lost 4 inches off of waist. My legs and arms are becoming more and more defined everyday. This is in part to the resistnace band training that is included in the Turbofire schedule. Nothing like P90X has you do, but still a good amount for an overweight guy.
There are some drawbacks. I'm pretty convinced that this program was designed with chicks in mind, there are guys they use as examples in the video...but still.
HOWEVER.
Most of the women in the videos wear Yoga pants. So its not all too bad.
I've been finishing my sessions with Mikes Mix recovery drink. Which is better tasing (imo) and far cheaper than the p90X stuff. Mike's Mix Recovery Drink Good times on Hawkeyenation.com after the 2010 Wisconsin Game! -

I guess my point was any good work out plan will do. Don't need p90x. Just have to stay dedicated on your plan.

The thing is, is I'm not good at making up plans for myself, and it would be easier for me to follow along. I used to play Bball, but then stopped and haven't really done anything since. Now I'm fat and I want to get back into shape so I'm more comfortable. Just looking for something that will give me results when I put in effort, for some reason I don't do well with gyms because I have no idea what I'm doing.

Cut off your hands. Your heart will thank you. The cf community will thank you. Originally Posted by CyBer So, I'm overweight @ about 230 and want to get down to about 200 or less. I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all. -
